I've been taking Loestrin 24 for a year now and it is the first time I don't have my period during two months I feel that is being too delayed and I'm concerned about it, I want to know if that is something normal as an effect of this birth control pill.
It is entirely possible for your periods to stop entirely. If you are concerned about any health problems, contact your doctor. When I was taking them, my periods stopped completely, and I actually liked not menstruating. But,if you have any concerns, call the Doc. I hope I helped some.
I had major problems when I took Loestrin. My ob-gyn put me on it in June of 2010 after I delivered my daughter and I never had regular cycles. I would skip a couple of months and then have a period that would last for more than what is usual. I also experienced a lot of irritability, all the small things that never bothered me before would make me SO incredibly angry and I didn't know why. If you aren't happy with how your bc is working for you, ask your doc if they can try other pills to see what your body responds to best. For some women it could be a long process to find what works for you since all our bodies act differently. I went from Loestrin to Ortho Tri-Cyclin (which gave me bad headaches) and finally to Ortho Cyclin. The Ortho Cyclin has really helped me, I know that when I hit that last week of green pills that I will have my period and as soon as I start my new pack on the blue pills it's over! I would definately recommend talking with your doc about trying something new, you never know, the next pill you try might work in perfect harmony for you! Good Luck! =)
