Is it ok to hold a job and drive a vehicle while having Lithium prescribed?

Lithium can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. You must be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert or awake. The same goes with using heavy machinery.

Also, you shouldn't drive when first put on it, but after a few weeks your body adjusts. I have been on this dosage 6 months. 1st Month I didn't drive at all. 2nd I did only in really familiar areas. Now I drive when I want to, except rush hour traffic. My nerves don't let me do that.
