I've been on the pill for about 9 months, and I've never missed my period. The pill has definitely made it lighter, but last month I didn't get it and I started another pack after the 4 placebo pills. I am sexually active so I am having a major panic attack!
It is not unusual to miss a period occasionally. You should be fine as long as you have taken all of the Pills each day without missing any and have not been on any antibiotics in the last month. If you miss two periods in a row you should see your Dr. You can do a home pregnancy test if you want to just for the reassurance. Pills are not 100% effective but it is unlikely that you are pregnant if you have taken all the Pills properly. If you have been on antibiotics in the past month without using a back up, or you missed any Pills, you may want to do a pregnancy test just to be sure as this is the most likely way for someone to become pregnant while on the Pill, because antibiotics reduce the effectiveness, as does missing Pills.
