I find with the 20mg xl I'm on now x 1 month I'm tired by 3pm and don't feel like doing anything. I am actually taking the generic form since the regular is so expensive.
I found that the instant release works for me better because my body metabolizes the medication fast. If you find that your medication is helping but the duration isn't long enough, talk to your Dr. and let them know. Usually you will be started on instant release or you will continue the extended release with a booster in the afternoon.
I had the same problem with Adderall XR, so I switched to the instant Release and have had a better outcome. Definitely speak with your doctor and try to switch. There is a misunderstanding lately with doctors that Instant Release stimulants are going to be abused more, but most of us take them as directed.
You can, in the meantime, crush those beads if you feel you need an extra boost-Of course it's not recommended to do so-just saying I did it until I could get in to my doctor's office. I poured the resulting powder in water.
