Is charcoal or it's real name actidose-sorbitol in the benzo family?

Activated charcoal is the residue from the destructive distillation of various organic materials (carbon) which has been treated to increase its adsorptive power.
It is a form of carbon that has been processed to make it extremely porous and thus to have a very large surface area available for adsorption.

It is not in the benzo family.
