My Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's 9 years ago and has gotten stiffer and has lost use of his hands and can't walk. Just yesterday, they let me know they've started him (the nursing home & his doctor) on Baclofen. I've looked it up, thanks to this site, and I don't like the possible side effects and the fact that it doesn't seem to be recommended for Parkinson's patients. Can anyone share their experience or their expertise?
Baclofen is not indicated in the treatment of skeletal muscle spasm resulting from rheumatic disorders. The efficacy of Baclofen in stroke, cerebral palsy, and Parkinson’s disease has not been established and, therefore, it is not recommended for these conditions.
