I am needing to cut my expenses on perscriptions. My insurance company has recommended the amphetamine/dextroamphetamine salts combo 10mg tablet. How do these differ and is this a good substitute? I am 56. I've probably always been ADHD, but was just recently diagnosed. I take the medication to help me at work, so that I can focus and learn.
The amphetamines/ dextroamphetamines mixed together are generally called "adderall" and are quicker to act/ don't last as long. They also give you more of that speedy happy feeling than vyvanse does and take longer to build up a tolerance. Personally I prefer adderall over vyvanse but it is just a personal preference
The ratio is roughly every 7mg of adderall=25mg of vyvanse so adderall is stronger
