Rapid detox 5 days ago,he seems to go up and down as far as depression will the lyrica help or do we want to have to deal with withdrawals again? Do you stay on lyrica long term?
Rapid detoxes are a rip off. they take all the opiates out of the body but your body still needs time to heal and adjust, that takes time.Depression is normal and the lyrica is an iffy drug lots of bad side effects,, i find that most of the rapid detox are money makers and dont provide good support. I know 8 people who did rapid detox and all relapse in less than a month. i sound pessimistic but i ddont like those places, get help and do the home work. paws will set in major depression and all they did was to get the opiates out of vthe body, the brain and nervous system doesnt know how to address this and lyrica doesnt either. keep looking up alternatives and look into suboxone
I'm sorry you didn't get much help on this at the time you needed it, but perhaps this will still help, or help someone else. Rapid detox uses a narcotic antagonist to remove any opiates from the brains opiate receptors. Lyrica is useless in this situation, other than having many dibilitating side effects; it is NOT an effective anti-depressant, and is intended only for very specific types of pain, not opiate-receptive pain.
Rapid Detox is NOT a treatment or cure for opiate dependence. A reputable rapid detox physician, is regulated by the DATA 2001 Act. Suboxone is administered while the patient is under sedation. Theoretically, the patient should be completely "detoxed" after the administration of the Suboxone, but the opiate receptors must be filled. It is necessary for the doctor to then provide a non-euphoric opiate agonist, known as buprenorphine. Treatment, which, per DATA 2001, takes place at an "Office Based Opiate Treatment" or "OBOT" center. Federal regulation allow each physician to manage 30 patients on Buprenex, a combination of buprenorphine and suboxone.
In addition, the inportance of phsychological treatment can't be underestimated.
