Looks like the rest of the qustion got deleted. Diovan is 4 times as expensive to buy under my insurance. Is there any real benefit to Diovan 160 over the Irbesartan? I see my doctor next month and would ask to change if there is no real difference.
Irbesartan and Diovan (valsartan) belong to the same class of medicines so it should be okay to change over, under your doctors supervision, if the cost is a prohibiting factor.
Doses may need to be adjusted and some initial monitoring to ensure that your blood pressure is controlled properly.
