I've been suffering from heart palpitations for years. I have had an extensive work up done. I've never been told that I have xyz. I was given metroprolol. I'm on a aspirin regimen. I sometimes suffer from intermittent chest pain. It last seconds then goes and comes. It freaks me out.
Chest pain and palpitations are very scary and potentially very dangerous.
If you have gone to a cardiologist and you trust him and he has done extensive work-ups and if you are compliant with medication and ALL of your instructions then you are doing your part!
IF you develop something different than what you have experienced before or really feel a strong sense of fear. Don't even think about it. Go to the ER!
It's a problem when people who have symptoms become "used" to them.
They question their own body and something goes wrong.
It's like having a baby. Lol... you know something is different but is it really time to go to the hospital?
If in doubt, just go ! So, they send you home. That's good and you are safe!

Is it normal to still have heart arrhythmia while taking metoprolol? My dr. says not to worry it is?
