My mother is allergic to metformin and is currently on Lantus and her medicaid payments only last until April. we are looking for other options that are more affordable and that do not contain metformin.
Think someone should go in with her and talk to the doctor. There is no metformin in the Insulins that is taken separately in pill form at least in the USA But there are many ways to get help with the Insulin she is on through the drug companies that make it. Or coupons they have you can print off the computer or from the doctor. You need to bring this to the doctor's attention that she is not going to be able to afford her Insulin soon. But in the search bar at the top of this form, you are reading type the name of the Insulin she is using and hit enter and look for low income etc free insulin or very small co-pays. and follow the directions there. Make sure you verify that the Metformin is not in the Insulin it is only taken by mouth. better get with it before it gets any later.
