Dose it let out insulin all day long weather you need it or not? or only when your body needs it. How do you prevent low blood sugar from happen ?
Like the other post said: it's a long acting insulin that helps keep your sugar levels even throughout the day. But not only when your body needs it.
In order to keep from getting low blood sugar, you have to eat properly (like all diabetics whatever insulin they take.) It helps to set and keep a schedule, something like breakfast, lunch, and dinner (well balanced, low on carbs), small snack between meals. Ideally you shouldn't go more than 5-6 hours between meals/snacks. Of course the only way to know absolutely what your sugar levels are is by testing at least 2X a day, though 3-4 is better.
