.I am instructed to take liquid carafate 1 hr before or 2 hours after a meal. I'm not sure if "meal" also means any liquids? morning water, decaf? I would be hard to avoid everything liquid! Thank you
I was prescribed Carafate years ago when 1st diagnosed with Crohns Disease. I know it is used for other things, too. It helps coat the stomach to reduce the build up of acid that can be horrible. When I took it, it helped with nausea and vomiting, "Meal does NOT mean liquids, too. The purpose is to help your stomach empty a little quicker than b4, If, however, you are having problems when you drink liquids, I would suggest cutting back a little.
Call the pharmacy. They give directions for you. And read about the use with your info sheet that comes with it.
