... Sonota... For those who tried it... did it work? how is it compared to Ambien and sonota?
Suzybelle - I have taken all 3 meds you have mentioned and am sorry to report they were not very helpful to me. You know we all react differently, or can react differently to same meds. I am currently being prescribed Dalmane (Brand), Flurazepam is the generic. I am a chronic insomniac and over the yrs have tried a lot of different meds. The Dalmane works better than any so far. I find that it works best if I NOT take it every night. My body gets used to it quickly and if I took every night probably would not work at all. Have been on it several yrs now with no ugly side effects. Tempazapam worked for a short while, but, I quickly built a tolerance to it, If you read up on Dalmane, you will find it is mostly prescribed for Chronic Insomnia. No daytime drowziness for me, and the generic works as well as Brand and very affordable if no insurance. Around $12.oo for 30 day supply. May be worth a try. Hope you get some good sleep soon, I know what it feels like to be sleep deprived and it is no fun!!!
A bit late of a reply, but I tried Sonata, it sort of helped me drift off to sleep but I'd fully wake within the hour. Another pill the same night had no effect. My sleep doc told me it was a short acting med, and that it was. I had better, if unpredictable, results with Ambien. Ativan did the trick, but it is only a short term solution. A benzo addiction is magnitudes worse than insomnia. Keep the faith tho, there is a solution.
