There is a new study that states that people who use sleeping have a higher percentage of dying then someone who is not on the pills. it also says that the use of the pills increases the risk of cancer by like 35% As a former sleeping pill user i was wondering if this is something to worry about?
I always take it with a grain of salt when 1 study comes out like this. In a few months 2 studies will come our to say it is wrong. Since many deaths happen at night is not hard to say those taking sleeping pills have a higher incidence. Talk to your pharmacist and see if he thinks this study is reliable
Hello macabi703. I am in my eighties and have used hypnotics for most all my life and hopefully have another few years before it is my time to say goodbye. There is a risk factor with the sleeping drugs, but that falls under dependency. (my own point of view) The vast majority of hypnotics are intended for the short term treatment of sleeping disorders.
