Hi Squiggles. Orthopedists
An orthopedic doctor is one who specializes in problems of the musculoskeletal system, from head to foot, including the spine. An orthopedist might address conditions such as ruptured disks, sciatica, scoliosis or low back pain
A rheumatologist will treat arthritis and musculoskeletal problems, including back and neck problems such as spinal stenosis, and spinal arthritis. Rheumatologists also treat diseases that are related to back pain such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and other forms of back pain. Rheumatologists treat more than 100 different diseases. It's the job of the rheumatologist to uncover the reason for swelling and pain.
I pray you find someone who will help you. No one should have to go through such pain. It affects the quality of our lives.
God bless you and take care.
I agree with Anna or Pickles, & believe you should see either a neurologist or orthopaiedic who will probaly order an MRI of your spine & go from there. They may want to do surgery or just treat the pain. If you are unable to work, can you not file for disability? Just a thought...
