My oncologist wants to start neupogen when I resume chemo, after being off it due to septic nucardia infection. I'm still on antibiotics for it. Anyone know if neupogen could re-stimulate my infection or if there's any drug interactions with antibiotics? Thanks, Sue Corbett, 66, from Pennsylvania
Neupogen won't have anything to do with your infection. Its the chemo that reduces your immune system. Neupogen is to help your immune system. If you are still on antibiotics for the infection it doesn't sound like you need any chemo right now. What part of PA are you in? I'm in the coal region of eastern PA.
