Hi, everyone! I just joined this group because my 9-month old daughter has been prescribed Keppra for very mild but very frequent seizures. So far she is responding well to the medication. This is her 5th day. I was wondering if anyone out there also has an infant or toddler on this medication? Apparently it was only recently approved in the US for children under 4. Just wanted to hear about other people's experiences with the drug. Thank you!
Anyone else have an infant on Keppra, how do you find it?

Hello turtles7997. Welcome to the site. I have children and grandchildren, none who have diagnosis, of seizures, Autism, ADHD or Asperger Syndrome. My passion is the study of the various diagnosis, and the treatment that comes along with them. I hope your daughter does well on the Keppra and that you might get some feedback from some of the other members of the site. Again, welcome and best wishes to you and your family, pledge
Hello turtles7997, i too, have just joined this support group to get more imput on this drug. From what i am told by dr. is that keppra is the safest and best drug to treat children with seizure disorder. i am also told that it has the best success rate for slowing or stopping seizures. I too, take keppra for seizures. However, i have a five month old son, sometimes i think i have seen evidence of seizure activity in my son. My father also has seizures. In the
event we find that my son also is suffering from seizure activity, i think we would trust keppra for the care of our baby. keep a journal everyday so that you will not overlook any information that could be informative to your dr. Even the simplest of things may be important. i pray that Our Father and Lord God Almighty brings healing to your daughter and Peace in her mind.
Thank you! Yes, our daughter has been on Keppra for 7 months now and is doing very well. She has responded very well to the drug, no side effects as far as we can tell (general fussiness and clinginess, but that may just be her age or her personality, nothing out of the ordinary). She's had only one seizure since April, when we hadn't increased her dosage to keep up with a growth spurt. We increased the dose immediately after that and she's fine now. Looks like she'll be on it for about 2 years, then we'll see how she does without it. Thanks for your response and your prayers!
