I understand a certain percentage of woman get periods but considering I haven't had them I assumed I wouldn't get any until maybe the second or last year not now? Just questioning it thank you!
Irregular bleeding is a side effect of these implants. Many women will stop bleeding for a while then get periods "out of the blue". It doesnt mean that protection is compromised. As KM said, the most common pattern we see is irregular bleeding the first few months after the device is placed, then few to no periods the first year or so then increasing periods up until the device is replaced but irregular bleeding means it can occur at any time. As long as you get it replaced when it is due to be replaced then you are protected.
