please I just want to know how painful it was, how long it took to do the whole process, should I be this terrified? or am I just over reacting?
It's normal to be nervous, I know I was. I got the first generation 5yr implant in `92, I remember some bruising and a little soreness, but not bad enough for.me to bother filling the Tylenol #3's they gave me. The procedure took about 15 minutes. My daughter got the implanon this last year she had very little bruising and slight soreness. She said hers took less than 15 minutes. It is a great form of birth control, and luckily the only side effects we had were light periods far apart.
There are over 900 reviews on Implanon and in the couple pages of them I read, nobody mentioned anything about the pain of getting it implanted. Granted, I did not read every review, but doesn't seem to be something the patients really complained about. Here are the reviews : https://www.drugs.com/comments/etonogestrel/implanon.html
In the professional information, it states that every doctor that implants this must have training, and they use a local anesthetic for the pain.
You're probably just worried b/c it is something you haven't done before, but you should be okay. If you're still curious, try reading some of the reviews :)
