... 30th, baring in mind that even though it was the fourth day of my cycle, I started to come off my period just as I was having the implant. When can I have sex without using a condom?
Hello nxxx7 and welcome to DC. Without any deviation and based solely on what you stated, you are protected immediatedly BUT to be safe... some doctors say use a backup method for 7 days.
What is not stated in your question is whether you were switching from one form of bc to this one, prior pregnancy or what occurred just prior to the insertion of implanon.
So, any where between immediately covered to using backup for 7 days.
You can always add to your question if you have additional information you wish to explain.
I am surprised this wasn't fully explained by your doctor who would know your medical history. That doctor would be the source to return to with any questions regarding efficacy.
I wish you well and I wish you peace...
