I have a very very low tolerance for pain just wanting to know if it hurts and also wondering if you can smoke while on the implanon?
Hi, when I had my implanon inserted in my arm there was a little pain but it wasn't much, my doc used this numbing meds so after that I didn't feel it anymore, so you can ask the doc if he can numb the area first since you have a low tolerance for pain but it's really not that bad! And for the smoking most docs will tell you not to smoke while on any birth control because you can run the risk of blood clots among other problems, just talk to your doc about all your concerns he or she will be more then happy to explain anything. Good luck and I hope this helps
Hello raygirl - You should not smoke on any form of birth control because of the increased risk of severe, adverse side affects on top of the ones already carried for cigarette smoking but any form of BC carries risk and most women don't pay any attention to them until something goes wrong. Blood clots can be deadly or cause stroke which can affect you for the rest of your life. To me, the risk is greater... than the intended use or need for BC.
