... I never have protected sex. I received a period june-sept... but no cycle in October & not yet this month. .. the implanon is still in my arm until I get my insurance right, but I will have it removed soon... but I keep getting negative pregnancy tests... please help! I don't know what to think :/
The implanon isn't working at all, so basically you have no protection from pregnancy. Did you do the test first thing in the am? Was the test outdated by any chance? Have you used different brands? I'd say if you still get a negative and don't get your period this month, see a dr. It could just be the hormones being absent from your body, with the implanon no longer working.
You cannot rely on the Implanon to be working to prevent pregnancy any longer. Even though the device is still in your arm, it is no longer secreting enough hormones to rely on for contraception. You are no more protected than if there were nothing there. You could very well be pregnant since you did have normal periods previously. See your gynecologist or a county clinic for a blood test. If you dont wish to be pregnant right now, you need to use some form of birth control. If you go to a county clinic or Planned Parenthood, you may be able to get it removed and replaced at very little or no cost. many of these places charge by income. They can check you for pregnancy too before you get a new implant.
