I have been taking OxyContin and oxycodone for a year in a half now. And it's starting not to work very well. I'm taking 2 60mg OxyContin daily and 4 15 mg oxycodone daily. And I can hardly feel any relief I tried to take a higher dosage and I still don't feel much difference. I'm going to see my pain Doctor next week should I ask him to change my meds to something else? Because I think I'm becoming immune to this medication no matter what dose I take. What should I ask him to change it to?
Having spent years with injuries and pain medication, I have found that total analgesia is virtually an impossible goal unless you are (medication name) and relatively opiate naive. Fentanyl is probably on the list next for you. However, be careful of what you wish for.
Heroin is a great painkiller but is sadly; deadly, abusable and brutally addictive.
