What I want to know is how long until I get to start getting the benefits of it? My husband has basically no sex drive at all because of his low testerone. How soon will that change? What changes should I expect or look for?
I personally don't know of anyone who has used Axiron ... but the link below has reviews which you may find useful.
I believe his response will be typical of most testosterone therapy. That is, it will be several weeks of treatment before either of you will be able to point to anything definite.
However, some of the things that will be noticable: An increase in secondary sexual characteristics. Like, hair growth.
An increase in libedo, slow at first, but definite.
An increase in muscle mass, slowly, but also with work-outs or excercise.
A slight loss in body fat. An increase in energy and activity level.
All of these things occur gradually, over the course of two months of treatment. A man who does NOT see any of these benefits after two months will want to discuss his symptoms with his doctor to adjust the dosage.
The exception might be the man who is thinking that his sexual performance is going to suddenly get better. He may "trick himself" into initiating sex more frequently, and sooner that I have suggested. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. (You can help your hubby by being receptive and encouraging to his overtures, as you normally might. But, please don't be demanding... "When are you going to get it up, bub?" That type of comment will backfire everytime.)
