I'm taking Azthromycin for bronchitis. Will it also help with my vaginal bacteria infection?

Azithromycin (Zithromax) is a prescription antibiotic that is licensed to treat a number of common infections. It is part of a class of antibiotics called macrolides.

It is effective in the treatment of: a bacterial infection, such as:

Respiratory infections, including bronchitis
Ear infections (otitis media)
Sinus infections (sinusitis)
Pneumonia
Throat infections (tonsillitis/pharyngitis)
Skin infections (cellulitis, folliculitis, or impetigo)
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including:Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Chancroid.

Since the med is on PoM, it is recommended to talk to your doc./pharmacist for more details, hope this helps, best of luck!

Sometimes antibiotics can actually cause a vaginal infection because it also kills the good bacteria as well. I would suggest checking with your doctor for a treatment for you more sensitive areas. Good luck hope you feel better soon.
