Now I have a letter saying they didn't find something in my urine ... And they are dumping me... I"m broken hearted because I really love this Dr. and have done everything that was asked of me... From what I'm reading here they are checking to see if I am taking something they gave me ... Perhaps tramadol ... I had 3 UTI's in the last 2 months and my other Dr. said to give it a break for a week or so since I do have other pain meds to take... So, I did that and now I'm getting dumped... This is so upsetting
If you have good rapport with this Dr then see if you can call and explain what happened. For future reference though, it is always best to let your pain Dr call the shots when it comes to your pain meds. If another Dr suggests a change to your routine, run it past your pain Dr so he/she knows what is going on as soon as you can. You can just telephone to tell them what your other Dr said and get the ok. Your pain Dr is the one who is regulated the most, legally, and they need to be the ones to make changes in your pain drugs. Hopefully you can explain what happened and since you have been going there for such a long time, perhaps they will give you another chance. Good luck and in the meantime, you might want to call around to see if you can get in with another pain Dr just in case.
Did you sign a contract with your doctor? It's so important to stick exactly with what your pm doctor gives you and if you leave out taking something it will show in a urine test and will get you in trouble. He's probably wondering where the tramadol went. You could try to talk to him, hope it does you some good but I'd look around for another pm doctor just in case. The DEA is so strict now and it's the bad guys that make it so hard for us who try to do the right thing.
Wish you luck with talking to him, try to explain what happened, hope it helps you.
