Good question. I would recommend working closely with you doctor prescribing the medication. He or she will slowly start to reduce the doses each month or whenever you see your doctor on a regular basis until you get down to the lowest dose which I believe is 30mg. Your doctor may then put you on the short acting Morphine Sulfate and slowly reduce that until you are completely off. You may experience some withdrawal symptoms but you can always tell your doctor about it and she or he will take is slower. I hope this helps and I hope you get off this medication successfully! Good luck to you!
