I'm afraid to take my medication(3 oxycodone 5-325mg). I trust my doctor and all but, I'm just afraid of what will happen to me or if I will get addicted or not. I just need some simple answers.
Opiates are highly addictive, and I can understand why you do not want to take them. Yet if you are suffering with terrible pain, you might just want to take them for a few days.
You won't become addicted if you take them for a short time, and flush them when the pain is gone.
Please don't be afraid. As long as you follow your doctors directions you will be fine. I have taken oxycodone on and off for years and although I have a history of drug abuse, I was fine. When I took for a long time, I had to wean off of it but that just meant I couldn't just stop all at once. I had to taper the dosage over several days. Your doctor will guide you through this, just ask questions when you have them.
