so can i use Percocet (oxycodone-acetaminophen) as a medicine to reduce my pain?
You can use it as long as you're not allergic to anything in it and it doesn't conflict with anything else you take. But your doc should have told you that.
You should also know it's highly addicting. If you take it longer than 1 week you may not want to stop taking it or be able to stop. Most people who get addicted to pain pills do so very innocently. They don't start out with the intention of getting high or getting hooked. But both things soon happen. Chronic pain is a terrible thing, It causes normal everyday people to become things they never believed they would be. So be very careful with drugs like that. There are tons of very nice people here who got hooked very innocently.
I'm going to be blunt here - if you have metastasis breast cancer in your bones - bone cancer - are you a candidate for hospice? You don't have to wait till you are completely bedbound and can't do anything - hospice can come in on even a limited basis and help you Live what time you have left. There are many pain control options when you are terminally ill - you don't have to worry about addiction. Ask your cancer doctor for whatever you need to make the most of your days and if you need it, take it. If I've misinterpreted your situation, I apologize. It's just that if you have bone cancer - oh my sweet Lord that can hurt! There are quivk acting Fentanyl meds that help a lot - plus other longer-acting pain meds. There's a lot of things that can give you relief. Talk to your doctor - take the meds and enjoy every moment! -
