I take those medications and I just turned 24. I applied for disability because they say the pain could last. How bad am I to be prescribed all theese medicines at 24? It is for my lower back. I think it's a pinched muscle thats pinching a nerve. How bad am I? Am I doomed to have pain forever? The more I research the medicines online the more scared I am.
You are not bad or doomed forever!
Pinched nerves are often acute - that is they are extremely pain but don't last forever. The pain will settle eventually but you just need to be patient. In the mean time you should take the pain relief. Talk with your doctor about your concerns. Your doctor could prescribe milder pain relief if you feel you can cope with the pain.
I can't tell you about disability - too little details - but I do not think polysubstance use, in and of itself will sway Disability. It depends on the debilitation and whether it is long or short-term and how that condition impacts your life - can you work? Can you keep your house up? etc.
This is the second time I've answered your question, for some reason, my answer did not show up, maybe it was too long, however having said that, I want you to know that at the tender age of 24 you can do many things to help with your care. Have you been to physical therapy, massage therapy, cyclobenzprine is also called flexerall, a muscle relaxant. Has your doctor done a MRI scan, a scan of your entire body. If it is a pinched nerver, you need to see a neurologist, someone who specialized in nerves in your body, and they can figure out if you have a "pinched nerve", and then take action on how to fix the problem, you are not "doomed", think Positive, they have technology now days that will help you get better, if you need further treatment your doctor will know. You sound stressed out, and I want to reassure you that nothing is worth stressing out over, take a deep breath, and hang in there. You don't sound s-disabled to me, and frankly, you are not on a lot of medications, it may feel like it to you, as you are young and some medical things can freak you out and cause a lot of unneccessary stress, don't be afraid to ask you doctor questions, ask, ask, ask, you will feel so much better after you get some snswers OK. Hang tough kiddo, you're going to be fine. Please check back foen we;d lofe to see how you are doing and progressing. I'll think of you often, and pray you get some much needed answers . God Bless, and hang tough, and stay in touch.
I know the drugs sound scary! However severe pain can cause more problems. Find a physician that specializes in pain management. I receive facet blocks & epidurals to help control the pain in conjunction with the muscle relaxers, pain meds. The only muscle relaxer that worked for me is Parafonte Forte.
