My doc just increased my dose of aderall by 5mg. I was trying to tell him it didn't feel like it was working. Anyway he increased my new dose but before giving me the prescription of the 25mg dose he said by law he had to take the rest of what I had left of the 20mg. I had only taken it for a week to two weeks. Anyway there was a lot left, but since it was paid for and just suppose the 25mg was too high and we decided to go back to 20mg, I would have to buy another whole prescription. Just wondering if it was legal for them to do this because it looks like the pharmacy would have to do this instead since I paid for it. He didn't say I was going to get a refund for that one.
If you switch from adderall 20mg to 25mg, is it legal for your doctor to take the 20mg you paid for?

I would just personally feel better knowning the pharmacy had it. This has there name on the bottle also and an agreement for them not to disclose information that they have. They are the ones who made the drug and placed it into the bottle and if they are certified to do that I would feel better handing it over to them. I guess it just makes me wonder what happens to the medicine and I want to be reassured that I don't recieve someone elses medicine that someone else had tampered with. That should be our right to witness where it goes also since it was in our hands first. When I recieve any med I want to know that no one has handled or tampered with it.
Yes They can do this. I can understand where you are coming from. The only reason they did this is because it is a controlled substance. There are people out there that would be saying the first script did not work just so that they can get another one (drug seekers) I would not worry about your privacy. They need to strictly keep all your info. confidential. Including a prescription label. If you ever found yourself in a similiar situation you could always explain to your doctor how you feel and ask if he/she or a nurse could escort you into the bathroom so you can flush them in front of them and take your bottle home with you.
