Hi , I´m Bipolar 2 , a friend of mine took Cymbalta (duloxetine hydrochloride), she has major depression or as they say "clinical depression" and did´nt experience any of the side effects but it all depends , we all have different reactions to the meds.

It is also use to treat the following:

Peripheral diabetic neuropathy pain
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

What other meds are you on, because of the interactions they might have?

Anyway,if you are experiencing common or serious side effects I recommend you contact your Doc right away just to be safe.

Dry mouth
Loss of appetite
Sore throat or runny nose
A decreased sex drive (libido)
Upper respiratory tract infection
Coughing .

Other common Cymbalta side effects

Shakiness (tremors)
Frequent urination
Muscle pain
Sexual side effects, including ejaculation problems, a decreased sex drive (libido), erectile dysfunction (ED or impotence), and orgasm problems (see Sexual Side Effects of Cymbalta)
Blurred vision
Anxiety or agitation
Weight loss or weight gain depending on the individual
Hot flashes
Abdominal pain (or stomach pain)
Vertigo (a spinning sensation)
Indigestion or heartburn
Seasonal allergies
Muscle spasms
Taste changes
Abnormal dreams

You should contact your Doc because these are serious side effects

Suicidal thoughts or behavior
Anxiety, agitation, or panic attacks
Hostility or aggressiveness
Engaging in unusual or dangerous activities
Restlessness or inability to sit still
Extreme elation or feelings of happiness that may switch back and forth with a depressed or sad mood
Other unusual changes in behavior
Signs of serotonin syndrome (a rare but dangerous problem associated with certain medications) such as:

Confusion or other mental changes
A rapid heart rate
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Blood pressure changes
An irregular heart rhythm
Overactive reflexes
Fever, sweating, or shivering

Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
Chest palpitations
Difficulty passing urine
Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.

Hope this helps you.

Hi :) I looked in my med book & this is what I found : Decreased Appetite, Dry Mouth, Sleepiness, Constipation, Increased Sweating, & Dizziness. If you have just started this medication these side effects usually go away. I hope this has helped you some :)
