OK so I am prescribed Oxy's and there has been a very few times I took less than prescribed and was just wondering if I were to get tested (like a blood or urine test) Would my doc be able to say ok you only took 240mg opposed to taking 320mg? I am a cancer patient and I have a script for 80mg (ER) and 30mg (IR) and like I said sometimes I don't take what I am supposed to but there are sometimes I am in more pain so I take the few I have left over and was just curious if I got tested would they know that I took less or when you are tested does it just say I have Oxy in my system? If you need to know anything else just ask and I will answer as best as my ability Thank you for your help...
It's possible but unlikely. Most doctors who do UA's use something called a Dip stick test where they dip or drop a small amount of your urine on the test strip. The test strip doesn't show you the amount that's in your system. If they were to do a more advanced system with a machine then they would be able to determine the amount that's in your system. I wouldn't worry about it as the amount can differ from day to day depending on what you eat, drink, and physically do during the day. I wouldn't be worried. Most doctors understand that pain isn't always constant and you can take less of a dose when you're in less pain. Try not to worry about it as this isn't a concern for most doctor. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
I understand completely and am sorry about your cancer. I have gotten off oxys for 6 months and will require a blood test to see if I have been using them. I will be needing a new prescription but worry that if I take a pill the day before they will know that I have not taken them long term. I knew I would need to save them and will require a new prescription but worry that they will say you have not been taking them..
