I was diagnosed with ITP on Christmas 2012. I have taken Nplate injections since Feb 2013 with no identifiable ill effects. I am not a person who appreciates the weekly requirement of taking this shot because I worry about the long term damage it may be doing to my system. My platelets have been up and down (50,000 - 85,000) until the past 2 months when they seem to have become semi stable at 119,000 - 180,000. The most frustrating element of this condition, to me, is the fact that YOU have no idea why the numbers fluctuate from week to week and the doctors, also, seem to have no answers!
