In our area we have had two cases of middle school children being given ? illegal drugs they are discribing them as triangle in shape white in color. These drugs are undetectable in drug screening tests. one child is still in critical care the other is continuing to be paranoid, repeatative, yelling, cursing uncontrollable at times and then sobbing. the parents of the children and other parents such as myself would like to know what this is and what kind of test needs to be run to help these children. please if anyone has anything they can offer, I am certainly open to suggestion.
There are many white triangle shaped pills, to know for sure you would need to know the markings on the face of the pill.
The pills dispensed range from birth control, to gabapentin an epilepsy drug now also used for pain, to hydromorphone used to control heavy pain, and this isnt the full list.
If they are illegal street drugs, and it sounds like they are since they have no markings, they could be anything. Some illegal drugs can affect a person psychologically even after the effects of the drug wear off, especially if the person is predisposed anyway. This could be anything from PCP, to acid (LSD) to Ecstacy or something else. LSD can have psychological effects long after the drug is worn off (flashbacks) and flashbacks can occur even up to a year after the drug is taken. These drugs are commonly seen on the street in pill form. Ecstacy causes an intense need to clench the teeth, bite down, or chew so you will see "ravers" using baby pacifyers to bite down on when they are using so that they dont bite their tongues or break teeth. If you see a teenager with a baby pacifyer you can bet they take Ecstacy.
LSD causes intense hallucinations which, depending on a users state of mind, can be funny and cause uncontrolled laughter or can cause scary, nightmarish hallucinations. Often with LSD the senses are confused and users state they can "taste" colors and "see" sounds etc. PCP can cause users to have no fear and no sense of danger. This is the drug that police will talk about users taking multiple bullets and still come on the attack and other instances of superhuman strength like thinking they can fly, for instance. There is also a substance that is newer on the market that is often sold as "bath salts" that causes intense hallucinations. I have heard kids talk about effects such as "hanging off Gods feet", having monsters come after them, seeing the sun rise and set in their bedroom, talking to people not there. I believe there was an instance of an adult man using this substance and locking himself in his attic with a gun stating that aliens were coming after him. There is a lot of scary stuff out there on the streets and how someone would think these effects are "fun" is beyond me. The police should have the technology to isolate what this substance is if they can get a hold of one of these tablets to analyse them. The best thing you can do is to just talk to your kids about the dangers of drugs and staying away from people using them. Kids at the middle school age are definitely at an age where they can be taught these dangers and be told of some of the ill effects they might have from taking these drugs. They are also under a great amount of peer pressure so they need to be told to stick together and stick to their guns and back each other up when it comes to telling these creeps pushing these drugs, no-we want no part of that crap! These kids are not babies but they do need to be educated as to the possible effects and dangers of these drugs and to know what the permanent effects could be. If they know ahead of time what these drugs can do then perhaps they wont be so eager to try them. This is very scary to think of but it does happen. Not only with scary drugs like this one but this is the age that many kids start using prescription drugs which could be lingering in your own cabinets. It is the age that many try things like alcohol and marijuana for the first time. It is imperitive that you begin to let your pre-teens and teens know about how dangerous these drugs are and children are exposed to them earlier and earlier so sooner is better than later! I hope that you find the culprit putting these drugs out there and that you find out what it is before another child is messed up!
