My doctor gave me a prescription of ibuprofen 600mg. Will it affect my reclipsen birth control pill if it has this high mg?
mva456; There is no problem with taking these together the milligrams has nothing to do with it but this has no problem with your birth control pills as far as lowering the effectiveness of them You are very smart to check. Even the pharmacy does not and the doctor fails to tell woman about this problem. I am going to guess that you have severe cramping monthly when your friend comes to visit. aka Period Ibuprofen is used for the cramping when it is severe it is important that you take it with food or milk to avoid stomach upset and just to protect your stomach and make sure you continue as normal to take your b/c at about the same time each day to avoid any problems. if your period is regular like you know when it is monthly and the cramps are normal it really helps to start the Ibuprofen a few days like 3 or so prior to the period and take it through your period it helps many woman more because the inflammation does not get as bad which helps the cramping. And you can also use this for regular pain from headaches etc and again there are no interactions.
