My mum has IBS and over the last two years I have been getting some of the IBS symptoms pointed out by the NHS Choices website. I just wanted to know if I possibly might of inherited IBS.

Yes, many doctors have seen that Irritable Bowel Syndrome has a tendency to run in families.
While there is no evidence that IBS is hereditary, another family member may also have it but often there is no family member with the condition although it is quite common for another family member to have another type of GI disorder.
I have IBS-D with spasms, my one sister was Celiac, my other sister is lactose intolerant, and my father has diverticulitis. Quite a variety pact but all having an effect on the GI tract and requiring changes in diet.
