I just started using it a few days ago. I didn't notice huge changes, but the literature suggests that flow would be 1/3 less.
For me that means that I was able to sit through a movie at the theater without having to get up and change pads. Of course if your baseline is 3 oz of flow during a 3 hour trip to the movies, 2 oz isn't going to be spectacular, but it at least it is improvement.
I haven't noticed any side effects at all, although I doubt the most serious one, blood clots, would be likely to appear at once.
