The pm dr has me on15mg morphine 2xs a day and 10/325 percs 4xs a day for my pain. I've recently found out I have a prolapsed bladder along with severe neuropathy in legs and feet and I was born with bilateral clubfeet. I aslo have shattered my rt. Heel, fractured left Knee and have steel rod in rt hip. Which works better cause the morphine isn't doing anything so I only heard of oxycontin next? Or should I have him increase the doses of my meds now? TY
AL78, Morphine is much weaker than Oxycontin! I am on the exact same meds and mgs. (ms contin and percocets) and dosage that you are on and I can tell you, IT DOESN'T HELP me at all. Actually, The MS Contin makes me sick which is the Morphine. But it may help you as it's effects are different on everyone. I go back to the Dr. next month and I am going to have a heart to heart talk with her.I have had 3x Back Surgeries with rods, pins ,and plates and Methadone has helped me more than anything! You may want to mention Methadone to your Dr. It last's much longer than anything I have ever taken and let me tell you, I have been prescribed just about everything! Good Luck and I hope this helps!
Morphine is very weak for me in pill form. The only time I found it to work well for me was in the hospital in IV form. For pills the only thing that works for me is Oxycodone. Since I have a high tolerance I would have to take either 2 of the 30mg of oxycodone or get an 80mg oxycontin pill. Percocet used to work very well for me but my tolerance is just too high now and the most Ive heard of is 15mg for Oxycodone with tylenol
(aka Percocet). But like I said, overall Oxycodone is by far the best pain reliever in pill for for me, the dosage just varies for everyone.
