... Doctor had me stop taking it last week. How soon will my symptoms aches and pains subside?
Not sure what Simvastatin is. Does it contain narcotics? I guess anything you take daily for 2 1/2 years will experience some sort of discomfort. Even aspirin. As I am not sure what that medication is used for I am not sure how long. You might call your doctor or his nurse and they could give you good imformation since he or she is the one that gave it to you. Wish I could be of more help. There is always the drugs A to Z tab at the top of this page that will give you information on all drugs I have looked up. That might help. Good luck to you. Kimmie
Simvastatin belongs to a group of statins that r lypophylic. As Atorvastatin these cholestrol controlling medications may cause myalgia and very seldome rabdomyalosis. If u have high cholestrol and have stopped taking ur statin then the question should be, what did ur Dr give u to replace Simvastatin, as taking nothing can be fatal. Have u tried Crestor, Lescol or Pravastatin, as these r hydrophylic and should not cause as much myalgia.
