I was taking Pyridostigmine bromide (Mestinon) 60mg 3x a day for 1 year. is there any bad side effect if im become pregnant to the baby?
The safety of Mestinon (pyridostigmine) during pregnancy or lactation in humans has not been established. Therefore, use of Mestinon (pyridostigmine) in women who may become pregnant requires weighing the drug's potential benefits against its possible hazards to mother and child.
A doc/gynecologist would be the best person to address your question, please take care.
You can continue taking Mestinon while pregnant. I have 2 children, they are adults now, the Mestinon did not affect them when I was pregnant. You should discuss it with your Neurologist. After they were born their umbilical cord had to be tested to make sure they did not have MG, which they did not. I have had MG since I was 2 years old, I am now 66. Let me know if you have any more questions.
