I started going downward again so my doctor restarted me on it at 10mg every am. Well, after a couple days, major insomnia. I fall asleep fine and then wake at all hours of the night and can't go back to sleep. I told her about this and she told me to take it every other am. I am just plain scared to take it again as I am one who does need sleep. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't recall this happening when I started it in early 2009. But I was also on Remeron for Panic Disorder at that time which made me tired all the time. Any help would be appreciated.
I would recommend taking either Seroquel which will help with the depression along with your antidepressant and will also help you sleep a full night. I take it nightly and it knocks me out for the night. Another option is taking Ambien CR which releases a small amount of medication through out the night that keeps you asleep all night. Talk to your doctor about it and see what he or she thinks. I hope this helps. Good luck!
I have taken prozac in the past and i also have had a very upsetting life experience. I stopped the prozac for a while as you have. I was prescribed amitriptyline, which is an anti-depressant and also aids sleep. I must confess that i take nytol with this also, but it is worth a try, the combination is safe
I was taking Prozac also and have recently stopped taking it and feel better. I was a firm believer in antidepressants but not if they aren't nec. I would encourage you to seek a support group thought because you lost the baby. It was not anything to do with the medicine or lack thereof. I lost two in a row and thought I would die I was so depressed - I really needed the support of other women who had gone thru the same thing. You will have the baby you are meant to have like I did. Good luck!!
