After awhile they stopped helping so my Dr told me about Saboxin. I thought it was great at first. I was on it for 2 and 1/2, but after the craveings and brain pain stopped, the real pain was back again. About a week ago My Dr put me on Subutex and said that i would be able to feel my pain pills soon again. My question is How long before I can feel my pain pills again? a week a month. Does Anyone have any idea?
The Suboxone and Subutex are basically the same drug, buprenorphine. The Suboxone contains the added drug naloxone which is added to prevent drug addicts from injecting the Suboxone. The Subutex (buprenorphine) will prevent the pain pills from working just like the Suboxone did. See the buprenorphine coats the pain receptors in the brain and prevents the opiate pain pills from working. Not sure why your doctor told you this, except that he doesn't know much about these medications. You can read about Suboxone and Subutex and how they work by going to:
Hope this helps,
depends on how fast the subutex recedes from your brain specifically, but a rough guess is 3 to 5 days. Once you have STOPPED the subutex, you can take your pain meds in a day or 2, but do NOT take more than you were prescribed trying to get it to work, it will still block it for a day to 4 days more, but one will be wearing off while one is attempting to take over for the pain. I just woke up, I hope this makes sense.
