I was just prescribed glyburide is 5mg alot to start off with for the first time.
The glyburide dosing guidelines usually followed by the doctor depends on how well the diabetes is controlled, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are taking. The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg to 5 mg, taken daily with meals. The doctor may increase the glyburide dosing, if necessary (2.5 mg or less per week), to the maximum dosage of 20 mg per day.
Since the doc has prescribed the med he/she would know your medical history, hope the above info is of help to you, take care, best wishes!
