I still haven't tried it. I think I am not wanting something that you taje every day, I much prefer the idea of something "as needed". It's always about the side effects, right?
I think I will read more posts in the group to see what most people think...
The best answer I can give is second hand, according to my husband who was prescribed this drug for his neurological condition. He is on 100mg at bedtime, and he is still feeling groggy in the morning when he wakes up, along with a whole host of other side effects. If you look up the drug here on this site you will find an endless list of side effects. Having said that, remember each of us metabolize drugs a an entirely different rate, and your body will determine that and you must pay attention to what your body is telling you. I would wait until after the wedding to try this drug if that is a concern, be careful to pay attention also to the many side effects. If you have them and they become a concern for you please advise your doctor immediately OK.. I personally do not like this drug, and I have many strong opinions regarding this medication. However that is where I stand, they are just that "my opinion". I wish you much luck and please check back with us and let us know how you're doing alright! Bless You!
Hey there meggieprice neurontin (gabapentin) actually takes a while to start working in your system. Many people i know myself included have taken it all i can say is it worked for some and some it didnt (me). Our bodys are all different so i say give it a try its not a fast acting med and it takes a while to build up in your system.
Usually when you first take gabapentin from my own experience you might feel tired and loose a little coordination, however if you take it when you go to sleep assuming that you get 6-8 hours of sleep you shouldn't feel much when you wake up. From what I have heard when taking it before bed it is usually to not have nerve pain that wakes you up and it does help you get good sleep. In my own personal opinion if taking it for the first time you should be fine the next morning.
