... children (3 1/2 months gestation- died after 1 hour; 7 1/2 months gestation- 4 1/2 pounds-no mental or other problems (no Yutopar); and 8 months gestation - 6 1/2 lbs- no problems) My child born when I was taking Yutopar was born at 7 1/2 months gestation ( 5 lbs 3oz), with his umbilical cord around the neck and tied in a knot. As a baby and child he had difficulty sleeping, would often wake up screaming- with night terrors, would scream uncontrollably during the day had difficulty in school had been diagnosed as ADHD (received no medication for ADHD).. As a teen he started loosing his hair and had difficulty concentrating. He is a bright person but had to work twice as hard as others in school to do well. In high school he also had numerous injuries and the doctor suggested he may have a connective tissue problem as his skin get permanent stretch marks and is weak and has joint problems. He gets depressed and is frequently emotional. With my next child the doctor put me on Brethine. She was born at 8 months gestation ( 4 1/2 lbs.) and has had emotional problems as well as weight issues. My last child was born at 8 months gestation ( 6 1/2 lbs) and I was given no medication. She is perfectly healthy. I would highly recommend staying away from any medication that claims to help prevent premature labor. The two I took did not help as I still gave birth prematurely and my children suffered permanent damage as a result. I was also sick during my pregnancies perhaps also a side effect from the medication and have had odd health problems myself since then. Has anyone else had these types of problems with either of these drugs?
