I have had very swollen legs and feet, can't wear shoes since I started taking suboxone. I need to be under pain management because of 2 car accidents and I have M.S. and I am an addict but clean for several years. I am hoping that there is no need to titrate off one to start the other and was hoping no ill effect not taking the naloxone in the suboxone. would this be ok and are the dosages the same?
hi andrea, this should not be a problem at all. as long your doctor is willing to make the switch.subutex is the same drug as suboxone.there is no need to titrate from to the other.when we take suboxone the naloxone is not absorbed by the liver.the only reason people feel withdrawl from an opiate is because buprenorphene will coat your receptors and not let anything else take its place... just be careful with benzo's,sleep meds, anti depression meds and muscle relaxers.im not saying that you can't take them, just be careful if you do... hopes this helps ... pete
