I took propoxyphene apap 5 hours ago for a toothache. Its not helping so is it ok to take ibuprofen?

Yes you can take that for the pain. It is a NSAID and may help by relieving inflammation that is causing at least some of the pain.

Yes you should be fine. Ibuprofen is not a actual pain med it is an anti inflammatory which may also help with the pain as it gets the inflammation down for you. As long as you are not on blood thinnners you should be fine with the Ibuprofen. I wouldn't suggest taking an Tylenol though because Darvocet(Propoxyphene) has some Tylenol in it so more would not be good for the liver. Hope you are feeling better soon.
