Hey man it's your friend arcanoidcyst16.I am the one who just got back from the ER yesterday.Yea!!I am now taking the 7.5mg hydrocodones to.They seem to be working fine for me but everyone is different.I also take Klonopin 1mg,Skelaxin 800mg(Muscle Relaxer),and 800mg of IBUPROFEN at night and during the day to help deal with my pain and somewhat sleep at night. If I were you and I still had pain during the day and after taking your medications.I would reccommend something like Soma,Flexeril,Valium,Percocet,Tramadol,or some other kind of muscle relieving pain medication. If you have to search the whole world until you find pain relief.SO BE IT.I wish the best of luck to you my friend and I hope I was at least of some help to you.
Oh dear why would someone do such a thing that is so f****in wrong ugh it aggrivates me when someone does something so devious. Okay you need to talk to your boss let him know this has happened maybe they got it on tape of someone taking your meds. Is your doctor understanding? would he give you a refill? If he isnt i wouldnt bother ruining it for yourself and calling them about it. If i were you i would go to the ER and see if they would give you some pain meds to tide you over till you see your doc again. Again im sorry there really is limited things you can do in a situation like this and i hope that person that stole your meds burns in hell. Whoever took it knows what pain meds can do and they knew what they were doing. Is anyone at your job an addict? try talking to some people maybe they can help you figure out who did it maybe during work they seen someone taking medication(yours). I hope you find out who did it good luck sweety.
Hi melissab, In the future, take only what you will need for that day with you to work. Keep the meds on your person, ie; in a pocket or in your bra (in a baggie) or something. Never ever take an entire bottle!
You might want to make a police report, and take that report to your doctors office, perhaps you can get a refill.
I hope you can get the meds replaced, as WD is not something you want to go through!
Best of luck friend,
first, you must make a police report.asking if your workplace has security cameras sounds like a good idea.why was your doctor so hesitant to up your meds?wow, and the rirst time you get 60 someone steals that many.get a police report and show it to your pharmacist.then if necessary ask your doc.i had a similar incident when i was on kadian.but that story did not have a happy ending.ill keep you in my prayers.
It's sad in today's world that you can't even take your own medications to work or other places in fear that they will be stolen. I never take my bottles anywhere and even keep them in a safe at home that is so hidden that nobody could ever find it.
The problem you have now is that any doctor will not write you more because of lost or stolen medication and if you report it, unfortunately many doctors see this as a lack of responsibility and sometimes worse as so many of the bad apples will try to use this as an excuse to get more than prescribed. Because you only asked for your current med to be increased in dosage only recently, this doctor you are already having troubles with may feel that you took more than you were supposed to verses believing you even though you are supposed to report any time an opiate medication is stolen from you or lost.
I had my own stolen from me one time and it was a lesson I will never forget. I did go to the police which I do recommend that you do but they will do nothing over what they consider a minimal amount of pain medication.
You must report this to your employer also but I am afraid for you to report this to a doctor you are having trouble with. If there were no troubles with your current doctor, I would say by all means let them know but even though we are truly in chronic pain, there are always going to be doctors that look at us like addicts; not dependent due to pain.
I carry extra labels from all my prescribed meds so that if I am pulled over/searched they know it is my medication legally but I no longer carry my entire amount and only what I would need for that day out.
Because people are brazen enough to actually rob a pharmacy to get these types of pills I am also in fear that anytime I pick my own up that I could be mugged going to my car so I only use the drive thru, rip the labels off of empty bottles that I throw away, and never carry more than needed on me with extra labels for that month showing that they are my legal prescriptions.
I hate to say that you won't be able to get a doctor to replace them and you will most likely have to go without.
I never tell anyone that I am on pain medications any longer. I may post to this board but I do not advertise to anyone, including friends that I take medications for pain or what they are. Someone at work knew you had them on you and stole them.
Think of whom you have spoken to at work that knows you are on pain meds. If you've told more than one person, it will be hard to know who did this. I'm sorry this happened to you as I know how hard it was for me to go without but fortunately it was only a couple of days before my appt and scripts were due. Two days is bad enough and I don't know how many days this will affect you but you must report this to your boss as this could affect your ability to even go to work so they must know what has happened.
I think after this if you follow what I do that will help but you may also have to keep anything you have to take with you to work in a much safer location locked up from anyone and possibly your employer/boss can help with that.
I would even announce to people that you have told at work that you no longer get these meds saying the doctor took you off of them entirely.
You can not trust telling anyone that you are on pain medications if they are in any position to steal them from you as people who abuse them or sell them can be so hard up that they do not care to steal to get what they have become addicted to no matter if you are friends with them or not.
I'm truly sorry this has happened to you and even more sorry you also had to learn like me that you can not trust anyone knowing or even to keep them in your purse.
Do get a police report. Unfortunately many people who are doctor shopping/abusing their meds will also say someone stole their meds to get more. You will need the report to take to the doctor's office. It is not uncommon for an addict to get a police report either. The doctor may be able to check you blood for a level of the medicine to prove that you don't have an exorbitant amount in your system. Call the police and make a report and then call your doctor. Never take that much pain medicine with you to work, lock it in your car or hide it at home and I mean hide it very well. You will be surprised how many pills will come up missing from even your own home. People snoop and steal.
i do agree with what everyone said... in my p m clinic ut has a sign that says if you lose your meds ... no exceptions... you cannot get a refill no matter what ... what does it say at you p m clinic... i get 145 lortab 10s a month... an mine have been stole so many times i cant count from my home ... MY SO CALLED FRIENDS... get a lock box an lock them in it ..an hide the box ... sorry this happened ... i know how you feel
When mine were stolen I called and talked to the doctor and let them know what happened and they refiled mine. But I would make a police report for the just in case factor that has personaly happened to my sis in law recently. She had hers stolen and who ever did it stole a car and got in a hit and run accident someone got realy hurt and let's just say whoever stole her meds basicaly framed her.. she had all kinds of police looking for her. All because they left the bottle in the car when they ran
Sad when you have to hide meds in your own home, but I've been there. Following my cesarean section with my second son, we had a "welcome baby" party, and my 90 Tylox somehow dropped to just 12! And I'd just had a surgical delivery! Luckily, I had an understanding doctor, and getting them replaced was not that hard to do. But knowing that a "friend", whomever it was, had come into my home and stolen needed medication from me, and that I would now have to LOCK up meds in my OWN house, changed my whole attitude forever. Now, my tramadol and ativan get safed, just to be sure.
i just wanted to say thank you to all of you that gave me your advice and prayers after my very unfortunate incident. i never did file a police report. i told my supervisor & all she said is, "it wasnt me"! i honestly think it was. she is very shady. she was suppose to be my friend. i confided in her all of my medical problems. she did know about my meds... and i cant prove it, but i think deep down in my heart that it was her. i am putting the past behind me and taking the advice of HIDING my meds. even in my own home. i have alot of family members and friends that take pain meds so i feel like its not safe in my cabinet where i usually keep them. i now only take with me what i need for the day. i never want this to happen again. it was a very rough couple of weeks for me. i have never felt that bad in my life. i didnt tell my dr because i dont want him to think negatively about me like im a drug addict or something.
after finding out that i have fibro, he increased my lorcets to 70 a month. its still not what im use to which is 4 a day... as needed. i have to keep it between 2-3 a day and that is very hard considering that im awake for about 18hrs out of the day and 2 pills only give me 4 hours of relief. im still trying to find another pm dr. it looks like i will still have to travel to which ever one i choose because we do not have a pm clinic in my town. you guys are a blessing and i appreciate all of your support. thank you for always being there! family and friends dont always understand. its nice to have this site to turn to when everything is looking down for me. love you all!!!
